STL acquires all required permits through Alberta Transportation's Online Permitting System, managing overwidth, overheight, overweight, overlength, and special combination applications. For loads requiring inter-provincial movement, we coordinate with the relevant provincial authorities and ensure conditions are reviewed and communicated to the driver before departure. Route surveys and bridge weight assessments are completed as part of our pre-move planning — not left to chance on the day of the move. When a route requires modification based on infrastructure constraints, we identify alternatives and present options to the client before commitment.

Our escort and pilot car coordination covers commercial pilot vehicles for standard oversize moves and police escort arrangement for loads requiring law enforcement presence under permit conditions. We work with certified pilot car operators across Alberta and BC and coordinate multi-vehicle convoys for large project moves involving multiple loads moving in sequence. Every heavy haul dispatch departs with a documented Journey Management Plan that captures the full route, timing, check-in requirements, and contingency procedures.
